Hello, you.

A new blog to step outside of my life and appreciate the pretty things.

Summer is not the high point of my life.  Ohio has nasty summers, and I am not built for heat.  But with summer comes bright colors.  This, I can deal with.

The other day, I decided it was an orange kind of day.  I found a bottle of Revlon Tangerine hidden in a Kroger nail polish display.  I've heard great things about the color and the formula, but I hadn't seen it anywhere local.  I swatched it on my pinkie and fell in love.  Of the hundreds of polishes I have, I don't really have a wide orange selection (but I do have a neon traffic cone orange, which is about as cool as it gets).

My sad orange collection so far.  The little Sally Girl one is actually my two-year-old nieces, $.99 polishes are the best birthday presents.  Top to bottom, left to right.
Zoya Tanzy is a tangerine orange glass fleck glitter, it's from the 2011 summer line.
Nars Orgasm is a peachy orange with gold glitter, I got it as a sample, it's pretty sheer but super pretty.
OPI Flit A Bit is a really bright cantaloupe orange creme, I don't think I've warn this one yet.
Zoya Paz is one I got for the name, my favorite actress is Paz de la Huerta.  The fact that this polish is a glowingly neon is just a perk.  Of all the colors I have, this is the color most often grabbed by my friends when they do their nails.
Revlon Tangerine is another summer 2011 color, tangerine orange with yellow gold shimmer.
China Glaze Papaya Punch yet again, summer 2011.  This was the only color from this line that caught my eye, I think I got it because it was orange and summery.  The name is pretty descriptive, a bright papaya orange creme.

Plus China Glaze Ick-A-Bod-Y.  Image borrowed from Scrangie.com, my favorite nail blog!  I got this one a few months ago off of a blog sale in anticipation of Halloween.  It's like Halloween in a bottle, awesome orange glitter in an almost black/old tattoo green jelly base.

Here's my late night "it's storming and I want bright colors" manicure.  I always forget to touch up before I take pictures.  I got sample fimo flowers from one of my Born Pretty Store orders, so I decided to ass some of the yellow ones.  This was first attempt at them, they're okay.  I packed on some Poshe top coat since I was going to the fair the following day.

What's up, dry summer cuticles?

Orange and yellow eyes to match my nails

Even my dog is into the orange theme.
